Static IP for Prop Trading Desks in India
Prop desks need one dedicated origin per trading identity — not a shared office WAN or VPN. Dedicated Mumbai IPv4, optional second IP, HTTP proxy 443.
What a prop desk actually needs
Brokers map API keys to a small set of static IPs. If ten strategies leave from one CGNAT office address, you cannot prove who sent an order, and one ISP blip takes everyone down. Give each legal trading identity (or each registered algo) its own dedicated IPv4.
Office WAN vs dedicated IP
Keep the monitors in the office. Route only broker REST and sockets through Algo-IP credentials. See the office-network article for CGNAT detail. A second allocation is a warm standby if the broker allows a secondary IP — confirm in each portal; do not invent a max-IP number.
VPN is not a desk policy
Shared VPN exits rotate and are often flagged. A dedicated proxy is single-tenant. Price for one IPv4 is ₹200/month; IPv6 ₹99 only when that broker’s form accepts IPv6.
- One KYC’d Algo-IP account (or agency sub-accounts) per identity you must audit.
- Pre-market ipify check on every box.
- Wallet auto-renew so an unpaid IP does not suspend mid-session.
