Broker IP Address Whitelisting in India — Complete Guide
What is a broker IP address for algo trading? How to whitelist dedicated static IP on Zerodha, Dhan, Angel One, Fyers — IP broker setup with Algo-IP Mumbai egress.
What is a broker IP address?
A broker IP address is the public IPv4 (or IPv6) your trading API calls exit from. Brokers store this in their developer portal and reject orders from any other origin — a security and SEBI traceability requirement.
Algo-IP as your IP broker
Algo-IP (algoip.in) is infrastructure-only IP broker service: we assign dedicated Indian datacenter IPs, not shared VPN pools. You whitelist the broker IP address once; all REST and WebSocket traffic routes through it.
Whitelisting by broker
- Zerodha Kite Connect — developers.kite.trade → App → IP Whitelist
- Angel SmartAPI — smartapi.angelone.in → App settings → IP restriction
- Dhan HQ — web.dhan.co → API profile → Static IP
- Fyers — myapi.fyers.in → App → IP whitelist
Office network vs dedicated broker IP
An office network IP is shared, often behind CGNAT, and can change when the router or ISP lease renews. It is a poor broker IP address. A dedicated static IP from Algo-IP is one permanent Mumbai address you whitelist once, even if the bot later runs from home, a VPS or another office.
